What Is Vulnerability Assessment?
Vulnerability Assessment (VA) is the process of scanning and analyzing systems—websites, desktop or mobile applications (Android/iOS), servers, networks, firewalls, routers, and related infrastructure—to identify security weaknesses.
Results include documented findings and recommendations to close each gap. VA is typically faster than full penetration testing; proper scoping is essential to avoid disrupting production systems.
When to Use VA
VA can be performed more frequently than pentest. Regulations such as ISO 27001, OJK, PBI, and BSSN guidance often require periodic vulnerability assessments for compliance.
